Shopping FAQs


Q: Do I need an appointment to shop?

A: No.  We do not schedule appointments to ensure all walk-ins are welcome. You may stop in anytime we are open. If you plan to try on dresses, we can assist you or you are welcome to bring friends and family. We do suggest you to bring someone with you, to help you determine these are items you love.


Q: What types of dresses do you sell and what is the price range?

A: We will have hundreds of pre-loved dresses, some brand-new with tags. Bridal gowns of all price ranges will be available. Dresses are priced well below retail value whether they are new or like-new.


Q: What other items do you sell?

A: We carry a variety of clothing, accessories, décor, and more. Items may be purchased or handmade, and may or may not be found anywhere else. If you would like to see our inventory, please follow us on social media. For a full list of items we may have, please see the Sell/What We Take page.


Q: How often do you get new inventory?

A: Our inventory changes as often as people come in. We purchase and consign inventory as often as those in our community bring their pre-loved items in, so stop in to see the latest!


Q: Do you have a layaway or hold items?

A: No, we do not have a layaway program, but we will hold items for 24 hours, or until the same time on the next business day. At that time the items will go back to the sales floor.


Q: Are prices negotiable?

A: Prices are not negotiable. Wedding gowns in the store are consigned and not owned by Formally Yours. All other items are priced as marked. Watch for specials and promotions!


Q: What types of payment options do you have?

A: We accept cash, debit cards, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards. We do not accept checks.


Q: Are items returnable?

A: All sales are final. We are unable to process any returns or exchanges, so please ensure you are happy with what you are selecting.  Unfortunately, most of the items we sell are specifically used for one event, but you are welcome to bring your items back in for resale once in clean and resale-ready condition.


Q: May I take pictures?

A: Yes. You are welcomed and encouraged to take pictures. Please be considerate and respect the privacy of other customers though.


Q: Do you ship?

A: No. We do not ship, though we will address each situation on a case-by-case basis.


Q: Who can come shop with me?

A: Feel free to bring whoever you would like. Please keep in mind that we are limited on space, have a lot of breakable items, and do not have shopping carts.


Q: Can I bring my purchased items back in when I am done using them?

A: Yes. You are more than welcome to bring your items back in for resale or bridal gowns for consignment. Please see the Sell and Consign pages for more information.
